Women's Bible Studies
Two Bible studies are being offered to the women of Providence this Spring. The Wednesday morning study will be held at 10:00 am, and it will be on I & II Corinthians. The Wednesday evening study will be on the book of James and will be at 7:00 pm. Further information is available on the class registration page. The registration deadline is February 28th to allow adequate time for childcare arrangements to be made, as well as bulk book purchasing. Late registration will be allowed, however book prices will be higher, and childcare cannot be guaranteed.
Textual Reliability of the New Testament Seminar
How did our New Testament come together? How sure can we be that it is accurate? Why are other ancient books not included in our Bibles (Gospel of Judas, Gospel of Thomas, Acts of Peter, etc.)? Have certain manuscripts been hidden for ecclesiastical reasons? Did the early Church change what the original authors wrote in order to promote their own agenda? Who determines the wording of our Bibles? Which English translation is the best? These are just a few of the questions this seminar will address.
Join us March 15th as Brian J. Wright, author of Jesus as 'God': Scriptual Fact or Scribal Fantasy, helps us answer these very important questions. You can read more information here about the discipline of Textual Criticism. Register for this seminar in the class catalog.
